Court documents reveal details behind former town clerk’s arrest

The former Eclectic town clerk Shannon Duck is accused of taking $2,598.44 from the Town of Eclectic in 11 payments. According to court records, those payments stretched from 2024 to as recently as April of this year — nearly four months after she was no longer employed by the Town of Eclectic.

“Between Dec. 18, 2024 through April 24, 2026, the defendant, Shannon Nicole Duck, knowingly exerted control over U.S. currency in the amount of $2,598.44, by utilizing the Town of Eclectic’s Trustmark Bank account to pay a personal State Farm Insurance account for personal vehicles,” an affidavit in court records states.
