Edgewood shoots for redemption after last season’s premature end

For the last few years, Edgewood Academy has produced state champions on the hardwood. Three years ago, the Wildcats went back-to-back, winning AISA AA State Championships in 2022-23 and 2023-24. After losing in the first round last season, the Wildcats’ boys basketball team is ready for the season and it’s hungrier than ever. 

The Wildcats return a solid core from last season’s squad, including Brock Whitt — an All-Elmore County First Team nominee who averaged 13.1 points and 12.4 rebounds per game last season — Thomas Justiss, Landon Smith and Ja’qub Anthony.
