Elmore County Commission looking at limited paving projects

The Elmore County Commission is finalizing road projects for the next year. Some will be funded by Rebuild Alabama and others will be funded by fees collected Enhance Elmore. But the Enhance Elmore funding will be used for only one year on roads before those funds are used for bond payments on the new Elmore County Jail.

“We are looking to bid out about $1.4 million with in order to proceed in October,” Elmore County chief engineer and operations officer Luke McGinty said at Monday’s commission meeting. “The other project will be near $4 million and start in the spring.”
