Kristopher Matthews

Both parents of Karson Matthews are serving 20 years in prison after they were convicted of aggravated child abuse related to the 2-month-old’s death in 2018.

Last week, Kristopher Matthews, 40, of Tallassee, was sentenced to the same term in prison as Karson’s mother, Shirley Matthews. But not because 19th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Amanda Baxley was being lenient.
