After a season full of success, the Wetumpka Indians suffered a heartbreaking loss at the hands of the Saraland Spartans, 58-56, in the Class 6A sub-regional.

“We had a successful season,” Wetumpka coach Steven Thomas said after the game. “It’s not that we lost. The toughest thing is having poured into this group for four years and you see them succeed in a way that hasn’t been seen in years. Having that opportunity with this group, it’s special. You hate for it to end.”
