Wetumpka drops non-region game to Smiths Station 

Wetumpka’s football team couldn’t hold off Smiths Station’s rushing attack Friday night, falling 28-20 after the Panthers used their ground game to take control in the second half.

Wetumpka opened the game with strong offensive execution, using Kaleb Ballard’s rushing ability to move the ball downfield and set up the Indians’ first touchdown. Wetumpka continued to find opportunities through the air, with Patrick Davis hauling in a deep pass in the end zone against one-on-one coverage to help give the Indians a 14-7 lead after the first quarter.
