Elmore County juvenile court judge Patrick D. Pinkston informs the Elmore County Commission of his request to procure a facility dog for use by county employees.

The Elmore County Commission approved Monday the use of a facility dog by Judge Patrick D. Pinkston and county staff trained to work with the dog.

“There has been an increased movement across the nation based upon some pretty compelling data that’s been generated by the psychiatric community that there is a tremendous benefit to children, in particular, and adults, by using facility dogs or therapy dogs to assist in the reduction of stress, particularly within the context of litigation within the court system,” Pinkston said.
