The Elmore County basketball teams took part in last week’s Tallassee Lions Club 2019 Basketball Tournament and each came away with one victory before heading into the Thanksgiving break. The boys team won its opener against Alabama Christian before falling to the host Tigers in the championship while the girls team took home the third-place trophy with an overtime victory over Tallassee.

The Panthers boys team (2-5) fought back from a double-digit deficit to knock off ACA, 49-47, in the first round. Payton Stephenson scored seven of his team-high 13 points in the fourth quarter while Dylan Willis added 12 points to help complete the comeback.
