Elmore County drops heartbreaker to Valley

Dalton Middleton / The Herald Valley’s CJ Chambley (3) catches a Hail Mary pass for the game-winning touchdown over four Elmore County defenders.

The Elmore County faithful left Burt-Haynie Field heartbroken on Friday night.

Elmore County fell to Valley, 41-40, on a last-minute Hail Mary in what was the Panthers’ (6-2, 3-2) biggest game of the season. With the loss, Elmore County will now be the No. 3 seed and travel in the first round of the playoffs while Valley (6-2, 4-1) will be the No. 2 seed and host.
