Stanhope Elmore forward Isaiah Pettaway gets to the free throw line against Prattville Christian Academy in the Mustangs' home opener loss, 71-70.

Things are rarely ever perfect in sports, let alone in the first game of the season. In the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs’ home opener and first loss of the season against Prattville Christian Academy, they proved that.

Despite an early deficit, the Mustangs fought back, keeping the game close throughout the entire second half. Fouls and sloppy mistakes on defense saw the home team fall apart as quickly as they came together, losing 71-70 to the Panthers at home.
