The Wetumpka Indians are 6-4, 3-3 this season, good enough for a No. 4 seed and a playoff berth. They head down to Mobile this Friday to take on the undefeated Saraland Spartans.

The Wetumpka Indians are headed to the playoffs for the 13th season in a row. This year, they’ve got a big task ahead of them, taking on 2024 6A state runner-up Saraland on the road Friday night. The Spartans are undefeated this season.

“They’re a really good football team,” Wetumpka coach Bear Woods said. “They systematically move the ball on offense. On defense, they are fundamentally sound, and they have some great strength on the edges, defensively. I think the team has a very dynamic player in their receiver, (Deshawn Spencer), and the quarterback (Jamison Roberts) also plays very confidently. He knows where to go with the football, it seems like every play.”
