Wetumpka has been a top-producer of softball talent for years now, and they start off young. Softball coach Daryl Otwell and a handful of current and former Wetumpka softball players spent a Saturday morning with over 60 youth softball players between the ages of six and 12.
“We love the sport and obviously we want to give back to it,” Otwell said. “Anytime we feel like there’s an opportunity to give back to this community, and we’re thankful for our city allowing us to do that here on this new complex. So we try to do this and let our girls get out and kind of give back to everybody that’s invested in them.”
