In the last few years, Edgewood Academy has made a name for itself as one of the dominant girls basketball programs in AISA Class AA. The Wildcats won three straight state championships in 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24. 

Fast forward two seasons and the Wildcats have a brand-new coach, Joseph Townsend. Although he’s coached for a handful of years, this season is Townsend’s first as a head coach.
