At approximately 9:06 a.m. Friday morning, the first of many first responders descended on Benjamin Russell High School for the Tallapoosa County Emergency Management Agency’s annual full-scale disaster drill.

Almost two dozen agencies participated in the annual Tallapoosa County Emergency Management Agency’s disaster drill. This year’s drill was an active shooter staged at Benjamin Russell High School.

The drill focused on an active shooter situation at BRHS and the first Alexander City police officer entered cautiously to assess the situation. Although school was out, staff that were present carried out the lockdown procedures.
