Benjamin Russell coach Kirk Johnson is no stranger to the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game, with this now being his third year amongst the compilation of best minds and best athletes the state has to offer. But this year was different, as he was given the job leading the squad as Team Alabama’s head coach — making him the youngest coach to receive the honors while also being the second Black coach to the team.

And what made it even better is that he was not the only Wildcat to represent the entire state, with offensive coordinator Cody Hodgens on staff, along with receiver Cederian Morgan and BJ Bedgood on the roster.
