The county board of education has made the decision to move from an elected superintendent to an appointed one.

The Tallapoosa County Board of Education approved a resolution beginning the process of changing the superintendent role from elected to appointed.

During the Tallapoosa County Board of Education’s meeting Tuesday night, the board approved a resolution asking Sen. Jay Hovey and Rep. Ed Oliver to take the change to the legislature then use the legislative process to complete the act.
