Homefield advantage comes with a plethora of advantages: a short trip, more home fans and an already established comfort level — all of which can also be applied to anglers on a lake.

That was certainly the case for the Benjamin Russell fishing team last Saturday, with its third tournament of the season held on Lake Martin. Not only did the day cement Benjamin Russell in the top spot in the senior division, but the same result was shared with the junior division team — which is compiled of seventh graders in their first year of high school fishing.
