When Shalunda Price was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, which is a type of breast cancer that originates in the milk ducts and spreads to surrounding tissues, she felt the same as most others diagnosed with cancer.

“It was a hard pill to swallow,” Price said. “My first thought was I was gonna die.”
