With Benjamin Russell High School’s graduation just a few days away, Alexander City Schools superintendent Dr. Jose Reyes, Jr., is reminding those attending to be respectful of the graduates.

“We're trying to let the community understand that we want to meet folks in the middle,” Reyes said. “When I say (that), in years past at graduation, you did not hear a sound. As time has progressed, we seem to have forgotten maybe (there should be) some standard rules of decorum at graduation. We're there for the child, the student. We're not there for us as adults to make a scene such that we are the ones getting the attention.”
