Memorial Day has long been considered the “unofficial” beginning of summer. It’s a wonderful time of year full of graduations, vacations and warm sunny days. It also happens to coincide with what’s known in the college football world as “spring meetings.”

This is where administrators, coaches and media from particular conferences get together at the beach and discuss everything in the realm of college athletics. The Big Ten brain trust is meeting in Southern California this week and powerbrokers from the SEC will be meeting next week in Destin, FL. They will be discussing and possibly making some decisions on an array of consequential issues facing college football as well as other sports.

Andy Graham is a co-host of Auburn Blitz and his column appears here weekly.
