Jackson’s Gap police department has a new chief, but he is a familiar face.Â
Jamie Hammond has been in law enforcement for more than 20 years. He started working in Jackson’s Gap five years ago as a part-time officer. In November 2025, he was appointed to be the chief. Since beginning his new role, Hammond has hired three new officers in an effort to build the police force.
