ACPD extends sign up deadline for public safety academy

Participants of the Alexander City Police Department's citizens public safety course will have the opportunity to learn what police do everyday, including ride alongs.

Knowing how local law enforcement and first responders operate on a daily basis can benefit not only citizens, but the community as a whole. The Alexander City Police Department hosts an annual citizens’ public safety course in partnership with local fire departments, Tallapoosa County Emergency Management Agency and the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department. ACPD captain Rashunsky McKinney said this is to help citizens expand their knowledge on what their local first responders do to maintain community safety.
