Boat sales have been on the rise this year despite the economy and storms that have affected the Lake Martin area.

“We actually had one of our best years we’ve ever had in boat sales,” said Dave Commander, president of Russell Marine. “After the tornado there was a little concern that it might cause people to not get on the lake and we were concerned with the economy, but it really didn’t seem to affect sales much at all.”
