Multiple emergency vehicles were observed in the Fairlane neighborhood in response to a house fire.

One person is dead after a Wednesday fire at a Fairlane home.

Several firetrucks and ambulances with The Alexander City Fire Department initially responded to the fire Wednesday, and according to Todd Sassano with the ACFD, observed heavy smoke at the residence upon arrival.
