A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:19 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, has claimed the life of a Goodwater man.

According to an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency press release, Brian A. Combest, 28, was fatally injured when the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup he was driving left the roadway and struck several trees. Combest was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene, the release said.Â
