Extension office warns about statewide pest outbreak

Fall armyworms can be mitigated with different forms of pest treatments.

Alabama is undergoing a massive outbreak of fall armyworms.

According to a release by Justin Miller of the Alabama Extension office, fall armyworms plague pastures and hayfields and have the ability to invade and destroy healthy forages in a matter of hours. Because of their quick nature, scouting is extremely important for producers to treat infestations early before too much damage occurs, according to a press release.
