One condemned building and another that needs a ton of work on the old Russell Corp. land are set to be demolished, a move that city officials are calling a win all around.

Russell buildings Nos. 8 and 9 will be demolished by this time next year, using $380,000 worth of monies from the Growing Alabama Tax Credit program. According to a press release, the program uses private dollars to improve publicly owned sites for eventual economic development.
