The City of Alexander City adopted an ordinance in 2021 stating that fireworks may be used or sold during two seasons of the year. The ordinance also states multiple illegal uses of fireworks within city limits.

Throughout this Fourth of July week, it's important to keep safety in mind from the roadways to the lake to your own backyard.

Fireworks can be a great way to celebrate the Fourth of July. However, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission reported nearly 10,000 people were treated in the emergency room last year for firework injuries during the Fourth of July holiday.
