Lake Martin Animal Shelter in need of puppy, kitty food

For the Lake Martin Animal Shelter in Alexander City, the spring and summer months mark a spike in the number of unwanted puppy and kitten litters being gotten rid of. With this influx of young animals to the shelter, they are in critical need of puppy and kitten food.

“With puppies and kittens, they have to be fed multiple times a day. During the peak season of May through September, a 50-pound bag of food may only last us three days,” Lake Martin Animal Shelter Director Mia Chandler said.
