McCook awarded Purple Heart

An Alexander City Police Officer received a tremendous honor Wednesday, earned while serving his country in Iraq.

Governor Kay Ivey presented Staff Sgt. Donald P. McCook, Alabama National Guard 214th Military Police Company, with the Purple Heart for wounds received in action in Iraq. McCool is now a corporal with the Alexander City Police Department.
