The Alexander City Fire Department's new ambulance will replace one that burned down in 2023.

It’s been a long time coming for the Alexander City Fire Department. After it saw a slew of issues with its ambulances during the COVID-19 pandemic, ACFD will receive a new ambulance this week. 

“It’s a 2025 Wheel Coach,” ACFD fire chief Reese McAlister said. “It’s got the Stryker Stretcher system, and it’s fully loaded with lights and sirens. It’ll replace Fire Medic nine.”
