Porter retires, Davis steps in as interim superintendent

After years in the Tallapoosa County School system, former superintendent Ray Porter has retired. 

“We thank him for his service and dedication to our district,” former deputy superintendent Casey Davis said, during the July board meeting. “Not just for the past four years, but years prior to that as a teacher, special ed teacher, driver's ed teacher. He's definitely left a mark on Tallapoosa County that will be remembered for years to come. Our appreciation of words is small in comparison to what he has given to us as a school district.”
