The first few minutes after a heart attack can be the difference between life and death.
That was the message of an educational luncheon held Tuesday at Russell Medical Center. The program drew dozens of people, mostly over 50 years of age, for presentations from Dr. Kevin Sublett, a cardiologist with Russell Medical Center, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) coordinator Reese McAlister. Mayor Barbara Young also read a proclamation declaring February American Heart Month in Alexander City.
