Both local legislators are opposed to adding into law a teacher code of ethics enacted by the State Board of Education.

State Sen. Ted Little, D-Auburn, joined 21 Democrats and one Republican in the Senate in overriding a veto by Gov. Bob Riley of a resolution to block a teacher code of ethics. State Rep. Betty Carol Graham, D-Alexander City, said she would follow suit when the issue is presented to the House.
