For the fourth straight month, Alabama’s unemployment rate decreased dropping from 9.8 percent in September to a preliminary rate of 9.3 for October.

Tallapoosa County also decreased for the fourth straight month, slipping 0.3 percent to 11.1 percent, according to preliminary October figures.
