Just a short time since former Horseshoe Bend football coach Jeremy Phillips resigned, the Generals have found a new man to lead the team — former Beauregard and Wadley coach Shenan Motley, according to Tallapoosa County Schools superintendent Casey Davis.

Motley has been a head football coach in Alabama for the last nine years, and his most notable stint was at Wadley. He finished with a 51-22 coaching record, including a state championship win over Maplesville in 2024 and another state title appearance in 2021. Through six seasons with the Bulldogs, Motley made the playoffs in each year — he holds an 11-5 record in the postseason.
