A National Weather Service graphic illustrates the threat timing for severe weather in central Alabama on Monday.

Alexander City is at slight risk for severe weather Monday, according to the National Weather Service, with the possibility for damaging winds up to 60 mph, quarter-sized hail and a brief tornado.

As the storm moves through central Alabama, the threat for western Coosa County will be between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and, for Tallapoosa County, between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Both counties are at slight risk, except for the southern portion of Tallapoosa County which is only at marginal risk for severe weather.
