Tallapoosa, Elmore counties under severe weather threat this afternoon

Counties surrounding Lake Martin are under a slight to marginal risk category for severe weather on Wednesday afternoon with storms expected to start around 3 p.m. and end near 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Slight severe weather risk threats include damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour and a possibility of dime to quarter sized hail.
