Total eclipse is coming soon

Alexander City will see about 80% coverage during the eclipse on April 8.

While Alabamians won’t be privy to the path of totality, a significant solar eclipse will be coming Monday, and locally, there will be about 80 to 90 percent coverage.

The Great American Eclipse last came through in August 2017 with about the same amount of coverage area for those in Alabama. The eclipse is likely to be most apparent about 2:01 p.m. local time in Alexander City.
