Unpacking the African-American experience: Powers reads from recent works

Runas Powers III led a reading and book signing highlighting African-American history in the United States. The signing was held at the Adelia M. Russell Library in Alexander City.

While history is learned through school and curriculum, it can be passed down in many different ways — including poetry.

Alexander City native and author Runas Powers III along with Sean Shelton and Annette Shelton Haygood shared several stories of African-American history in America through several books by Runas at the Adelia M. Russell Library on Feb. 25.
