UPDATED: Tallapoosa under level four out of five severe weather threat

Tallapoosa County is now under a moderate risk level. 

The National Weather Service announced Tallapoosa, Coosa and Elmore counties are under a moderate risk level through 9 p.m., with all three counties remaining under a tornado watch until 5 p.m.

The moderate risk level includes possible damaging winds up to 80 mph, baseball sized hail and a few tornadoes. Previously, the moderate risk was issued for the southern portion of Tallapoosa County and Elmore County until 5 p.m.
