There is an element in sports that is commonly referred to as “in the zone.”

For basketball players, it’s consecutive baskets; some from deep, some fade-away-esque, all commonly met with a heat check. For baseball or softball, it can come in the tune of a perfect inning of pitching or deep hits to drive some runs in. And like in volleyball, it’s an ace or just a deadly spike in general.
