The first three times the Benjamin Russell softball team matched up against Chilton County, all resulted in a win for the Tigers. Even with a spot in the regional locked up with two wins over Calera in the Class 6A Area 5 tournament, the Wildcats wanted more.

And on Monday, they were right on the cusp of making that dream a reality. In the area championship, Benjamin Russell opened things up with an 8-7 win over Chilton County to advance to the do-or-die championship game.
