The Benjamin Russell baseball found itself in a hard game against Clay Central last Friday but ultimately fell, 3-2.Â
The Volunteers struck first in the top of the first inning due to back-to-back hits from the top two batters in the lineup. Things stayed relatively quiet for both teams with three consecutive scoreless innings. The Volunteers would break the streak in the top of the fifth inning after a line drive to the right field advanced a runner in.Â
