Recruiting, or more to the point exceptional recruiting, is the lifeblood of an exceptional football team. Head coaches, assistant coaches, analysts and donors all make an enormous difference, but players ultimately make or don’t make plays. 

Below average coaches can look good with massive talent on the roster. Good coaches can look mediocre with below average talent. It became abundantly clear about five minutes into Bryan Harsin’s tenure that he had little interest in recruiting and that was going to be a significant issue moving forward.
