Despite three turnovers in the first half and several other self-inflicted woes, Horseshoe Bend went toe-to-toe in its non-region football opener against Saks on Friday night.

The Generals ultimately suffered a 48-42 as HBS coach Jeremy Phillips said those mistakes were too much to overcome.
