Auburn has gone into spring practice with a quarterback competition more often than not over the last 25 years and 2025 was no exception. Nothing was made official by any of the coaches immediately following the final practice and most believed a decision wouldn’t be reached until fall.

Then, Hugh Freeze went on a podcast last week and said, in no uncertain terms, Jackson Arnold is going to be the starter. Obviously, this is a massive decision and one that will have the biggest single impact on Auburn’s success or failure in 2025.
