After compiling the best runners from across the state for North-South All-Star Week, Horseshoe Bend senior David Layfield saw his name on that list.
And after the performance he put on at Lagoon Park Tuesday morning, he proved he’s one of the best. Layfield finished second overall in the event, with a time of 16:08.39 and finishing behind UMS-Wright's Peyton Holderer. Unfortunately for Layfield and his South team, the North took home the next six finishes and ultimately captured the win with a score of 22 to 37.
