It seemed grim for the Benjamin Russell softball team through the first four innings against Clay Central. That was all until the fifth inning happened. 

The Wildcats pulled away with a 9-4 victory over the Volunteers, with all nine runs coming in the fifth frame. Hits were scarce for the Wildcats, even with those late-game heroics — finishing with only two on the day.Â
