Former Alexander City mayor and Alexander City Schools principal Barbara Young was given her due Monday afternoon.

In a joint effort between the City of Alexander City and ACS, the road leading into Benjamin Russell High School was named after Young, who was the school system’s first female principal and the only female mayor of Alex City.
